HOW IT STARTED
Carnivorous plants thrive in adversity. They grow in some of the most remote and inhospitable environments in the world, places so adverse to life that no other sane plant would think of setting up shop there. Yet, from the windswept cliffs of the tepuis to the bogs of Northern Alberta, life finds a way in the form of these small, often underappreciated plants.
Like the plants we are founded on, this business started from a dream in adversity. Officially founded right after COVID-19 hit Canadian shores, I honestly did not expect it to last a week (hence the business name, adopted as payment for a lost bet). Little did I know the appetite for carnivorous plants was much higher than I realized. And, for better or for worse, the name stuck.
It is my sincere wish that your purchase will spark a similar love for these plants in you that they did in me. Thank you for supporting local and for keeping this little dream of mine alive.
